Obsession

I’m currently working on my third comedy show which is called Obsession. It’s about personal obsessions, national obsessions and global obsessions, how the things we’re obsessed with run through families and social circles and how that affects our lives.

The show will be performed at Brighton and Edinburgh Fringe Festivals in 2010 as well as some one-off performances in London, Reading and anywhere else I’m asked.

Here’s the advert for the Brighton Fringe Programme:

Jim Bowes: Obsession - Brighton Fringe Programme Advert

At the moment the programme description reads like this:

Are you obsessed with something? Did climate change end when the financial crisis started? From collecting stamps to checking doors are locked ten times, is life making us all…obsessed?

But I’m pretty sure I can make this a bit snappier in time for the Edinburgh programme. I’ve not confirmed my Edinburgh venue or dates yet – I expect to be able to confirm by late March where I’ll be playing.

The team

As always I’m working with some great people to bring together different parts of the show. At the moment people involved are:

Will Wallace – design of adverts and posters and all the other materials to do with the show

Ben Marwood – he’s making me write a book that will coincide with the shows Edinburgh run

Oli Silk – music for the show

Jamie Roberts – video for the show

Ruth Bowes – constant input, telling me which ideas need more work

Kevin Harrington – overseeing I finish the show and don’t make an idiot of myself
